This notes was sent to all the managers by immediate supervisor (IS) on February 9, basing on the figure as at January 31, 2010. The last paragraph was red-inked which connotes the specific branch and the target manager.

Dear all,

This is a team-based product that I want all Branches to drive the sales from the very beginning of this year 2010. Can we all put our hearts and mind together to do better moving forward.

What happened to [X Branch] this time? You used to be the TOP/CHAMPION but now the last with only 3% achievement?

But when the subsequent report came out on February 25, X Branch recorded 349% achievement and positioning itself top under nationwide product campaign. Surprisingly the same IS did not say anything to compliment the Branch and the staff.

What was his intention by giving the red-inked notes is something to do with his ulterior motives. Since the report came out the same times with the appraisal, we could only conclude the motive is nothing more but to spice-up his office political agenda.

What Work Culture the IS is preaching? We do not think he is leading by example, neither he is a motivator to his subordinates. The action of the IS was against the Work Culture of X branch which among others says: "We are proud and motivated as we are compensated and recognised through meritorious performance"

So who is the right people at the right place.
