KUCHING: With Aidilfitri celebrations fast approaching, on Aug 30, CIMB Group hosted a buka puasa treat and distributed Raya goodies to the residents of Rumah Kita, a shelter for Indonesian workers in Kuala Lumpur.

Hampers containing new baju kurung and food items were presented to 39 residents of Rumah Kita by Dato’ Shukri Mohd Hussin, Executive Director, CIMB Group.

Tatang Budie Utama Razak, Deputy Chief of Mission of Indonesia to Malaysia, was also present at the function..

Rumah Ki ta, which was launched in May 2010, is a joint initiative between CIMB Niaga and the Indonesian embassy in Kuala Lumpur. The facility provides board and lodging for Indonesian workers identified by the Indonesian embassy and helps to ease the current capacity issues faced at the embassy.

Seven recipients of CIMB Niaga scholarship from Indonesia, who are currently pursuing their tertiary education in Malaysian universities, also joined in the celebrations.
