BESUT: Majlis Amanah Rakyat (Mara) is to introduce a programme next month to improve the English Language proficiency of students at its junior science colleges in the country.
Mara chairman Datuk Seri Idris Jusoh said today the ‘English Everyday’ programme would be launched on Oct 3 at the Jeli Mara Junior Science College by International Trade and Industry Minister Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed, who is the Member of Parliament for Jeli.
The programme was to enable the students of these colleges to be able to speak English fluently in their daily conversation and to acquire knowledge, he told reporters here.
On another matter, Idris said the third religious stream Mara junior science college called MRSM Ulul Albab would be established next year, in Kepala Batas, Penang.
The existing religious stream colleges are in Besut (Terengganu) and Gemencheh (Negeri Sembilan). — Bernama
