Introduction 

Majelis Amanah Rakyat (MARA), established at March 1st 1966 under Parliament Act a statutory body revenue from resolution Economic Congress Bumiputera first previously.

Is become obligation Majelis for promote, encourage, facilitate and conducting economic development and community in federal and particularly in areas rural.

MARA is an autonomous body under the responsibility of the Minister of Entrepreneur and Co-operative Development. The MARA Council consists of the Chairman, Deputy Chairman and nine other members, three of whom are from the civil service. All Committee Members are appointed by the Minister of Entrepreneur and Co-operative Development.

The Director General is the Chief Executive. He is assisted by two Deputy Director General. The departments are headed by the Directors while the units are under the control of the Heads of Units. They carry out MARA’s functions at the headquarters level. MARA is supported by 14 offices at the state level including the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur and Labuan and offices at the district level. In addition MARA has offices which operate in London and Washington D.C. MARA also has allied organizations in East Asia, Europe, Africa and North America USA

Mandate, Wawasan and Value Bersama is aimed internalized and practiced by all member MARA towards creating a corporate organization excellent, independently, autonomous dan berwibawa.

With power given perpetual heritable, MARA will implementing responsibility for promote, encourage, facilitate and exercise economic development and community throughout Malaysia in following fields:

a) Trading Industry

b) Facilities Financing

c) Usahasama or as Agen Manager

d) Investment Equity

e) Establishment and guaranty Institutions Training

f) What whatsoever thinks necessary or beneficial by Council
