February 03, 2022- Day 1- 15 @Home
Staying home was quite challenging when you know your are having heart problems. Sleeping were occasionally interrupted for fear of an attack. Every movement were calculated as risky and I don't really love the 'less-mobile' life.
[7 February]
Came back to PJS for CT Scan and Review Session with Surgeon Dr Jong Yuan Hsun. He told me my case was 'simple' to fix because I dont have other related problems like BP, Kencing Manis.
Ohh gosh..handed with 9 types of pills after the appointment.
[9 February ]
Came again for Lung Function Test. The same day I negotiated with Normah Medical Centre (NMC) to arrange for my CABG. My special request was for fly-in Surgeon from IJN, KL to which NMC agreed to comply. Thanks Ms Latifah Ahmad.
[11 February]
10.00 am went to KPJ for another 'service' enquiry. According to Dr Ang of KPJ, I can start the procedure in a week-time (7 Feb) for RM85k. At the same times NMC fixed my ops on 27 February and to start the procedure on the 20th Feb.
What I realised during my conversation with Dr Ang, I could see that he wasn't interested to hear when I said, I was just shopping around before I made decision. The hospital charged me RM800 for 4 units (vials) of Fondaparinux. I felt that I was 'forced' to buy their offer.
Sis Nurai and hubby, bro Alihan dan Dahlan flew in from Lawas and Bintulu respectively. They came for courtesy visit.
Footnotes:
- Blood vessels circulate blood throughout your body. They help deliver oxygen to vital organs and tissues, and also remove waste products. Blood vessels include veins, arteries and capillaries.
- A coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) is a surgical procedure used to treat coronary heart disease. It diverts blood around narrowed or clogged parts of the major arteries to improve blood flow and oxygen supply to the heart
- A heart attack occurs when the flow of blood to the heart is severely reduced or blocked. The blockage is usually due to a buildup of fat, cholesterol and other substances in the heart (coronary) arteries. The fatty, cholesterol-containing deposits are called plaques. The process of plaque buildup is called atherosclerosis.
- CT Scan is a computed tomography (CT) angiogram is a test to view blood vessels and tissues. Due to strict compliance with Covid19's SOP, swab test was mandatory prior to meeting the doctors.
